Test and live payments

How it works

Test and live payments use the same SpicePay API host. Set test_mode at payment creation; it is part of the payment and is not changed by a later confirm request.

Implementation

Install the processor's sandbox credentials before testing and use that processor's official test instruments. Some integrations can fall back to live credentials when sandbox credentials are absent, resulting in a real charge marked Test. Check the connector's sandbox status rather than relying on the badge. Test webhooks must never fulfil real orders or grant paid access. Refunds and disputes retain the original payment's environment.
